Now Offering Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession promoting health and wellbeing through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. We achieve this by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to and need to. We also modify the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.

Occupational therapists can assist residents with the following:

- Pressure Care
- Seating
- Electric wheelchair and scooter prescription
- Hand therapy
- Assessing transfers and mobility
- Prescription of small aids eg: pick up sticks and sock donners
- Assessing functional tasks eg: Writing
- Participating and assisting in finding leisure activities
- Relaxation and mindfulness
- Energy conservation and pacing strategies
- Sensory and cognitive assessments
- Falls assessments
