The BlueCross and Sapphire Care merger is now complete

Since the announcement of the merger in late July 2017, we have focussed on establishing the new Executive Leadership Team and the commencement of our merger integration program.

Chief Executive, Adjunct Professor Alan Lilly, is now leading the newly merged company. Alan joined BlueCross in September 2016 and has extensive experience in the leadership and management of health and aged care services. Joining him on the new Executive Leadership Team are the following Executive General Managers:

  • Toni Flynn - Human Resources
  • Jo Gatehouse - Clinical Governance, Risk & Innovation
  • Colin Holland - Finance & Corporate Services (CFO)
  • Fabio Maya - Operations (COO)
  • Robert Putamorsi - Business Development, Property & Infrastructure

BlueCross and Sapphire Care currently own and operate thirty-five existing residential services across metropolitan Melbourne, Phillip Island and Kilmore. Currently caring for more than 2500 residents with a healthy pipeline of new beds to become active in the next two years and a HomeCare service delivering care to more than 850 community clients, the company is committed to being a leading provider in the sector. In order to achieve our aspirations, we are now focused on the successful integration of policies, processes and systems to streamline company-wide performance.

As a result of the merger, frontline residential care, community and HomeCare services have not been disrupted. Residents, clients and their families can be assured of our ongoing commitment to providing high quality care with a high standard of accommodation and amenity. The companies have now combined business operations and look forward to a fruitful and prosperous future delivering care to residents and clients. We will also continue to operate both the BlueCross and Sapphire Care brands until further notice.
